Individuals applying for a professional designation in event safety need to present their Portfolio of Evidence to an assessment panel that is convened for the last Tuesday of the month.

The Portfolio of Evidence needs to include:

  1. A signed copy of the SACIA Code of Professional Conduct
  2. Certified copy of ID document
  3. Certified copy of highest academic qualification (verified by SAQA if foreign qualification)
  4. Two testimonial letters from recognised industry professionals supporting your claim of competence as an event safety practitioner.
  5. Detailed CV demonstrating relevant work experience as an event safety officer
  6. Portfolio of Evidence including a Risk Assessment and an Event Safety Plan for a low-risk event as described in chapter 2 of the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act (SASREA)
  7. Any other documentation supporting your claim of competence
  8. Proof of SACIA membership
