Broadcast & Communications Technology
SACIA award three designations to industry professionals working in broadcast and communications technology. These cover all aspects of content creation, management and distribution. To receive a designation, candidates are required to hold an underlying qualification relevant to their professional activity. They also need several year’s professional experience, and they should demonstrate their competence by providing a portfolio of evidence supporting their claimed skillset. Candidates are also invited to present their POE to an assessment panel that includes a mix of academics and industry practitioners. This ensures that the designations are academically robust and relevant to the needs of the industry.
The designation competencies were initially developed by an industry panel including representation from Multichoice, SABC, eTV and Namibia TV, as well as leading production and post-production facilities.
