SACIA awards two designations to industry professionals working in the creative sector.
The SASC Professional Cinematographer designation is awarded to cinematographers based on an assessment that explores their in-depth understanding of the art, craft, science and technology relevant to modern filmmaking. Candidates are assessed based on a Portfolio of Evidence that needs to reflect the breadth and depth of their work. They must also demonstrate several years of experience as a professional cinematographer working across multiple formats and film genres. The designation was developed in partnership with the SA Society of Cinematographers and is recognised by IMAGO members around the world (International Federation of Cinematographers)
The Certified Actor designation was developed with input from the SA Guild of Actors and signifies an individual’s professional commitment to the art and craft of acting, both in theatre and more modern media such as film, radio, television and online media.
