Promoting professional standards and ethical business practice in the communications industry throughout Southern Africa.

The Government AV Forum is established as an integral component of the National Implementation Framework towards the Professionalisation of the Public Service.

The objective is to accord full recognition to industry professionals working in the public service's audio-visual sector and subject them to registration with an externally regulated professional body.

A key objective of the NDP Vision 2030, the framework which sets out the Government's strategic outlook for the next five years, is the need to develop a capable, ethical and developmental state. The professionalisation of the Public Service is addressed through this priority which puts forward a vision of strong leadership, a focus on people, and an improved capability to implement Government plans.

The Forum is governed by a 5-person Advisory Council elected from amongst the members. Membership of the Government AV Forum is limited to individuals working in the audio-visual profession within the public service.
