Over the last years there has been a growing call for the professionalization of the events industry in Southern Africa. Who is SACIA? SACIA is a SAQA-recognized professional body which has developed and awards professional designations to individuals working in the events industry based on a review of their education and work experience. We currently recognize professionals working in event technical, event safety and event management.

Who is CEPA? The Council for Event Professionals Africa was originally established in 2013 as a three-way partnership between EXSA (The Events & Exhibitions Association of Southern Africa), SAACI (the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry) and IFEA (the International Festival & Events Association). In 2019 it was incorporated as a Council within SACIA, with a specific mandate to develop professional designations for event managers.
